Kiwanis is a worldwide service organization of individuals who want to improve their communities. As a group, they can achieve what they cannot do
alone.
These men and women attend Kiwanis club meetings for fellowship and inspiration. They perform voluntary community service through committees and special projects. Clubs around the world have raised $75,000,000 to eliminate the Iodine Deficiency Disorder.
A special emphasis today is "Serving the Children of the World."

Internationally, in one year, Kiwanis clubs sponsored 147,000 service projects. To do so, Kiwanians raised and spent nearly $100 million and contributed 6.2 million hours of volunteer time.
In 1994, Kiwanis launched its first Worldwide Service Project, a $75 million campaign in partnership with UNICEF to eliminate iodine deficiency disorders by the year 2000. North Vancouver’s primary provider of senior’s housing, Kiwanis Senior Citizens Homes Ltd. is a non-profit company owned by the Kiwanis Club of North Vancouver and operated by a board of directors and a team of professional, caring managers.
Senior's housing has been an important part of the Clubs activities for many years. The original "Kiwanis Village" was a group of wartime houses purchased by the club in the late 40's. This was followed by "The Apartments", built in the 50's and 60's on 1st. Ave. These units were phased out. Our present facilities are:

A visit to any of our North Vancouver Kiwanis buildings reveals their comfortable, newly renovated suites; featuring balconies, full kitchens, ample storage, and spectacular views of North Vancouver mountains, parks, and the city. Close to shopping, medical services, bus routes and far enough from downtown to be free of smog, but close enough to access theatres and restaurants.
Please take your time to browse through our buildings or call our office to arrange for a tour.

We senior citizens today are so lucky to have places such as this, and I certainly do appreciate it, to feel safe, warm, and reasonable rents close to shopping and transportation.
